Myst in school...
In 2004, for a college research paper, I decided to write about how great computer games were for education. Unfortunately I found the opposite of what I wanted (and expected). Computer games tend to be ridiculously misused, attempting to make children think boring facts are fun just because there's some bouncy animation surrounding it. (If I were a student, I'd probably see it as condescending.)
This, however, is perhaps the best use of computer games in the classroom I've ever seen (note the presence of one of my favorite games):
Isn't that awesome? :) Oh, and the teacher has a nice blog.
