Digging through the center of the Earth...

Contrary to stupid belief, digging a hole somewhere in Virginia will not lead you to China... it will lead you to water near the coast of Australia, according this website. To get to China, you will have to start digging off the coast of Chile.

The Distraction Game

Here's a really annoying game... my high score was 3902... have fun being distracted.

Jackson Will Definitely Direct The Hobbit

Saul Zaentz (who is still alive) said: "[The Hobbit] will definitely be shot by Peter Jackson. ... Next year The Hobbit rights will fall back to my company. I suppose that Peter will wait because he knows that he will make the best deal with us."

Yay for good old Saul!

When Idiots Teach Thanksgiving...

This idiot teacher thinks he's being clever. To teach Thanksgiving, he takes his students' pencils and glue bottles and says that he's discovered them, so now they're his! This would be funny on a sitcom, but in reality it's horrible... What an idiot teacher! Yeah, elementary school kids are really going to understand your point... oh, I know, let's have them watch the presidential debates as well, and, oh, heck, let's get some pictures in Atlas Shrugged so they can read it, huh? I mean, there are picture Bible books? How about a nice illustrated cardboard-paged version of Atlas Shrugged, eh? Whaddaya say? We gotta teach our kids to be analytical and think for themselves!

Bob Barker is Retiring After 50 Years

"Bob Barker is heading toward his last showcase, his final "Come on down." The silver-haired daytime-TV icon is retiring in June, he told The Associated Press on Tuesday."

Awww.... you'd think he'd want to see it through to the end... but I guess not.

Top scientist asks: is life all just a dream?

"DEEP THOUGHT, the supercomputer created by novelist Douglas Adams, got there first, but now the astronomer royal has caught up. Professor Sir Martin Rees is to suggest that “life, the universe and everything” may be no more than a giant computer simulation with humans reduced to bits of software."

Give me a break! It's a fun philosophical notion and great for novel ideas, but unless there's a way out of this reality (without having to die), which there isn't, it is useless to ponder such things.
